About Provision Trade Federation.
Our Objectives
- To represent, and promote the interests of the provision and allied trades in the United Kingdom.
- To collect and analyse market information relevant to provisions and present regular reports to members.
- To keep members informed and represent collective views on proposed EU and UK legislation in the area of food law, the operation of CAP and WTO rules and other key issues.
- To provide a forum for members to exchange information and views on issues of common concern.
Our Structure
The Council
PTF is controlled by a Council made up of elected members and the Chairman of each membership Section.
PTF Sections
PTF members belong to one or more of the following Sections:
- Bacon & Pigmeat
- Canned Foods
- Chilled & Processed Meats
- Dairy Products
- Speciality Cheese
- Yogurt and Short Life Dairy Products
Each Section elects a Committee which meets regularly to decide policy or issues relevant to that Section.
PTF also has an expert Technical and Legislation Group which meets to discuss proposals for food legislation and other related technical issues and provide advice to PTF secretariat. Members of the Group are drawn from all Sections.
