Advice Service
We encourage members to use PTF as their first port of call when seeking
advice or help in obtaining information from a variety of sources on
issues affecting their business.
Member Only Information Service

Members are kept informed by means of circulars sent by email.
- Market Reports
PTF's highly respected market reports to members deal with current market developments in the dairy and bacon trade and future trends, as well as the longer-term implications of relevant decisions made in Whitehall and Brussels. The reports are accompanied by a summary of reported trading prices and market statistics.
- Statistics
Statistical data covering imports, exports, UK production and household consumption of a range of product sectors are circulated to members on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Legislation
PTF scrutinises all relevant proposals for UK and EU legislation, advises members on their likely implications and makes representation to the relevant UK or EU authority.
- All information supplied to members is posted in the members-only section
of this web site.
Seminars
From time to time PTF organises seminars for members on current issues.
Membership of Other Trade Associations
PTF is an active member of EUCOLAIT, the European trade association for dairy traders, through which we press our case to the European Commission on crucial developments in relation to CAP and WTO policies and other European legislation of importance to dairy product traders.
PTF is a member of the Trade Association Forum through which we obtain
regular information on best practice.
Annual Dinner
The Federation's Annual Dinner, which is held at the Grosvenor House, London, every February, attracts around 900 members and guests and is the largest food trade social event of the year. Official guests include senior representatives from Government departments and agencies, Presidents of other trade associations and ambassadors and agricultural counsellors representing countries with which the UK has a significant trade in provisions.
